Mission: To enable and facilitate access to state-of-the-art major research instrumentation by UMASS Lowell researchers and industrial collaborators.

Management: Operated mainly as a user-centered facility; also provides contract services for internal/external users.  A steering committee appointed by the chancellor provides oversight of the laboratory. The laboratory manager directs daily operation of the laboratory. Training and technical support provided for all users. Currently subsidized by University Research Administration with intent of establishing a fee structure that ensures sustainable operation while maintaining efficient and productive use of shared research infrastructure.
