The Bartlett Community Partnership School

The Bartlett Community Partnership School
The Bartlett Community Partnership School in Lowell operates in collaboration with UML and serves as a model for early childhood multi-cultural education, staff development and parental involvement. In the 2005-2006 academic year, the school started a new extended day program in which UML provided content for the last hour of the day, i.e., the 3:50-4:50 pm period. Negative reactions from teachers and parents caused the mandatory extended program to be scrapped at the end of the 2005-2006 academic year, but the program continued as voluntary enrichment at an earlier time period (1:30-2:30 pm) in the 2006-2007 academic year. In both years, the programs were delivered as three, five-week segments, with students choosing from the available offerings.

CHN students are currently delivering their third set of 10-hour hands-on modules in nanotechnology.  Two doctoral students in plastics engineering, were the lead instructors for the first and second years of the program. Other undergraduate and graduate students act as "module experts" in delivering specific modules."
