NSF Nanoscale Science and Engineering Center--Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing (CHN)
Awarded a $12.4 million grant over five years (extendable to 10 years) in 2004, the CHN is one of only 14 NSEC's nationwide, and one of only four such centers that focus on nanomanufacturing. The CHN focuses on template-directed assembly for high-rate, high-volume nanomanufacturing. UML Nanomanufacturing Center of Excellence (NCOE)
The Nanomanufacturing Center of Excellence was formed as the first award for research as authorized under the 2004 Economic Stimulus Bill. From the John Adams Innovation Fund administered by the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative UMass Lowell was awarded $5 million.
Massachusetts has also committed more than $20 million toward a new building to house the Center.
