Dr. Montenegro grew up in California; he spent a year in Japan between his master's and doctoral studies, and is fluent in Japanese and German. Before joining the Lowell faculty, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Dr. Montenegro's main research interest is on sharpening the mathematical tools used to study the speed with which a random walk approaches its asymptotic distribution. He teaches Calculus III and Statistics for Behavioral Science.
