Scholarly Interests • Dielectric modeling of multi-phase cementitious composites
• Tomographic reconstruction using inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) measurements • Computational electrodynamics (wave propagation and scattering using finite difference time domain (FDTD) methods) • Nondestructive testing (NDT) of concrete structures using far-field electromagnetic waves • Structural health monitoring (SHM) of civil infrastructures using distributed sensing systems • Mechanical analysis of concrete structures using finite element methods (FEM) • Interface fracture mechanics of multi-layer systems • Non-stationary signal processing using wavelet transform (WT) • Geographic information systems (GIS) of civil infrastructures • Structural rehabilitation/strengthening of deteriorated civil infrastructures using externally bonded composite materials Bio Sketch Born and completed fundamental academic training in Taiwan. Came to Boston in 2001 for advanced degrees at MIT. Majored in Civil Engineering and interested in structural mechanics, applied mathematics, applied physics, theoretical modeling of cementitious composites, and the deterioration mechanism of civil infrastructure. Joined the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department of UMass Lowell in 2008.
