Scholarly Interests

Nanomaterials and nanotechnology, nanowires, self-assembly and directed assembly, amphiphilic block copolymers, nanocomposites, interfacial phenomena, thin film and coatings, nanoscale integration for electronics, sensors, and biomedical applications.

Bio Sketch

Dr. Gu is working with the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Nanomanufacturing Center of Excellence. Before joining the faculty at UMass Lowell this fall, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Johns Hopkins University for about two years in the field of nanotechnology, self-assembly and surface science. He is teaching "Kinetics and Reactor Design" this fall and will develop a new multidisciplinary course "Self-assembly and Nanotechnology" in spring 2007.
