AddThis, the number one bookmarking and sharing button.

You may have noticed a small icon on the top of this page that expands when you hover your cursor over it. It says simply “share” and it is an easy way to help get the word out about what’s happening at UMass Lowell.

The icon, called AddThis, is the number one bookmarking and sharing button according to the AddThis website. AddThis allows web visitors to bookmark, e-mail and share information with other people on more than two dozen social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Digg and Del.icio.us. Top AddThis clients include TIME, Oracle, MySpace, FOX, ABC, CBS and WebMD.

Tagging eNews articles, press releases and UML in the News stories, helps promote the University brand on the Internet and helps improve search engine rankings. E-mail a story to a friend. Add an article about research to your Facebook or MySpace profile. Digg a story about a community project. And get the word out about the University in the process.
