In an event designed to showcase the best of the University of Massachusetts, Asst. Prof. Andre Dubus III will join colleagues from four other UMass campuses for One Day UMass, a daylong series of short lectures and panel discussions on Thursday, Nov. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Dubus, author of the acclaimed “House of Sand and Fog” and “The Garden of Last Days” will represent UMass Lowell, joining Assoc. Prof. Alice Carter of UMass Boston, Dean Robert Feldman from UMass Amherst, Assoc. Prof. Shalesh Kaushal from UMass Medical School and Asst. Prof. Bryan Glyn Williams of UMass Dartmouth.
Dubus’ lecture, called “What’s a Helpless God to Do?”, is scheduled for 11:25 a.m.
One Day UMass is open to the public, and will be held at the Conference Center at Waltham Woods, 860 Winter St., Waltham. Tickets are $50, and include breakfast, lunch, five lectures and a panel discussion on health-care policy.
