Fourteen undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their academic achievements at this year’s Computer Science Academic Excellence Awards Banquet, held Sept. 12 at Alumni Hall.

“We wanted to reward and recognize the student’s academic achievements with merit-based cash awards,” says Wang. “The awardees were selected by the faculty based on the students’ GPA and other academic performance measures.”
A total of $17,100 in scholarships was given this year. The students and the honors they received are as follow:
Schulman, who received his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UMass Lowell in 1985 and now works for Motorola, gave a talk on “Beyond College – Lessons in Learning.”
