Students Awarded $17,100 in Scholarships

Computer Science awards banquet

Fourteen undergraduate and graduate students were recognized for their academic achievements at this year’s Computer Science Academic Excellence Awards Banquet, held Sept. 12 at Alumni Hall.

The photo at left shows Executive Vice Chancellor Jacqueline Moloney, center; Dean Robert Tamarin, far left; Computer Science Department Chair Jie Wang, far right; and keynote speaker and benefactor David Shulman, fifth from right, with some of the students during the banquet.

“We wanted to reward and recognize the student’s academic achievements with merit-based cash awards,” says Wang. “The awardees were selected by the faculty based on the students’ GPA and other academic performance measures.”
