Labor Extension Program

The Labor Extension Program provides educational services and technical assistance to unions in the region covered by the North Shore, Merrimack Valley, Central Massachusetts, and North Worcester Labor Councils.

The UMass Lowell Labor Extension Program works in conjunction with similar programs at the UMass campuses in Boston, Dartmouth, and Amherst.

Discussion Featuring Bill Fletcher Jr. on Race, Social Justice and Presidential Politics 

When: Sept. 24, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: O'Leary Library Room 222, UML South

Join us for this special discussion in O'Leary Library Room 222, UMass Lowell South Campus. Bill has served as the president of TransAfrica Forum, the Education Director of the AFL-CIO, field director for SEIU, and now directs Field Services and Education for AFGE. A prolific author, he most recently co-wrote Solidarity Divided, a book on the crisis in organized labor (with Fernando Gapasin).

The UMass Lowell Political Science and Sociology Departments, Center for Women and Work, Labor Extension, and the Merrimack Valley Labor Council are co-sponsoring this event. Light refreshments will be served.
