Wireless Networking:  Configuring a Wireless Device

Basic Instructions
Getting onto the wireless network is easy.  Just follow these simple steps:

1. Verify that your laptop or other networking device meets the university standard requirements.
   
2. Go to a Wireless HOTSPOT.
   
3. Configure your device using the instructions below.
   
4. Connect to the network by entering your wireless credentials when prompted.  The wireless network requires users to have proper authentication credentials (ie. username and password).  All UML faculty, staff, and students with a valid UML email account automatically have the following wireless credentials.  Please note that you MUST leave off the @uml.edu or @student.uml.edu.
   Username:  firstname_lastname
   Password: your UML e-mail account password
   
5. Connect to the network

If you need further instruction, please either call the Help Desk at ext 4357 or visit them with your wireless device in Olsen 107.
