Wireless Networking: PDA (Dell Axim)

Handheld Network Devices

Many handheld devices (PDAs, phones, etc) have wireless Internet access capability. These devices will work on the UML network provided that the driver and utility support the necessary wireless security standards.

The following instructions are for a Dell Axim X51v running Windows Mobile 5.0, with the Odyssey client.

The security standards used at UML is WPA / TKIP encryption and 802.1x EAP / PEAP with MSCHAPv2 authentication.  Please note that some devices do not need a client certificate (such as Odyssey client software) and others do require a certificate.

If you do need the certificate you can get it from the following link, at this point there are no instructions available for configuring wireless on your PDA with the certificate.
