Computer Replenishment Keeps Classrooms Current

Thanks to the UMass Lowell’s Computer Replenishment Program, all UMass Lowell classrooms will have current computer models in each classroom. Any classroom computer that is no longer on warranty (older than 4 years) is in the process of being replaced.

This will increase the reliability of the classroom systems and upgrade all operating systems to Windows 7. All standard site license applications will be included on the teaching podium computers. Additionally, all computers will be automatically updated with current OS and application patches and fixes on a daily basis. Classroom computers will continue to revert to their previous state on reboot, so make sure to save any work to either a thumb drive or the thawed drive (Z) on the computer.
