UMass Lowell has joined a leading digital multi-media entertainment network to offer students free access to downloadable digital music - safely and legally. The service provides access to over 1.5 million music tracks and allows you to create a network of friends with whom you can share songs and entertainment interests.
For those wishing to play downloaded songs on portable players, there is Ruckus-To-Go where music can be downloaded to Plays-for-Sure compatible players for just $20.00 a semester. A list of compatible players is available here.
For UMass Lowell students who wish to burn songs to a CD, individual tracks may be purchased for .79 to .99 cents per track or $9.99 per average album at Buy.com.
The service is also available to faculty and staff for $5.99/month.
