Identity Management

Identity Management (IdM) is a solution to manage security for many central and campus applications. A successful implementation of IdM will allow end users to access all major applications - HR Direct, e*mpac Financials, iSiS, e-mail, VPN, reporting environments, wireless access and eventually a portal - by signing on one time. 

The IdM project will take many years to fully implement, although there will be interim milestones which will be achieved throughout the project.     

Milestones Achieved

August 2010	HR Direct  is now driving access to IdM protected systems for employees.  Persons must have an active human resources record to maintain access to IdM protected systems.
July 2010	Finance System now using IdM to authenticate
May 2009	Human Resource System (HR Direct) goes live and is using IdM to authenticate
Fall 2007	All bids have been submitted and evaluated and vendor finalists have been selected.
Spring 2006	The Identity Management (IdM) team defined the business and technical requirements for the system and for each of the UMass campuses.
