Finance Upgrade to version 9.1

An upgrade to the current 8.9 version of the PeopleSoft Finance Application kicked off in the summer of 2010.  The plan is to complete an application upgrade by the summer of 2010. An 'application upgrade' is designed to transition UMass to current releases of the software without significantly altering system functionality. After the 'application upgrade' is stabilized, UMass will set milestones to deliver business process and system enhancements. 

8.9 Milestones & Projects

While most efforts are focused around the upgrade, there are some ongoing rollouts of finance functionality still ongoing. Some of these items include 

• Summit Financial reporting tools to departmental end users.  Summit is UMass' enterprise reporting tool that is being developed to support reporting for finance, human resources, advancement, and student.  
   
• Employee self-service expense processing is being piloted in a few offices.
