
The UMass System has begun effort to upgrade to the Human Resource application (now called HCM -- Human Capital Management). CedarCrestone has been selected as a consulting firm to augment the staffing for this effort. UMass resources from across the entire system have been participating in training throughout the summer. The upgrade team will begin analyzing the business functionality of PeopleSoft 9.0 this fall to see how it will match with UMass practices and requirements.
The high level schedule is to perform fit/gap sessions during fall 2007; build, design, and test throughout 2008; and then do training and rollout in spring 2009.
The campus is currently using an integrated time keeping solution to manage some employee populations using smart time clocks which integrated with the HR system. This same technology has web front end functionality which could be utilized by populations of employees who do not record time at a time clock.
