UMass Lowell has a number of classrooms with technology. However, the technology and its operation varies from classroom to classroom. By standardizing the technology available, faculty will need less training and will encounter few difficulties when moving between classrooms. Other benefits include:
- greater savings on volume purchases;
- improved student satisfaction;
- increased up-time;
- faster adoption of technology;
- and decreased maintenance costs.
Currently, UML is defining what the minimum technology standards should be (e.g. wireless networking, projection capabilities, user interfaces).
