General Summary (Purpose) of Position
The Program Administrator provides the Lab Principal Investigator, staff, and students with support for a number of grant funded programs, including monitoring budgets, maintaining records and supplies and preparation of manuscripts. 

This is a non benefitted part time position.  $14/hr.  Mid-day hours preferred. Employment is contingent upon funding.

Examples of Duties:
1. Provide administrative support for Principal Investigator on a number of grant funded programs by:
• Assembling IACUC and IBC applications for projects.
• Maintaining paperwork for review by various committees and agencies.
• Assisting with manuscript preparation.
• Arranging travel for Principal Investigator.
• Shipping frozen samples by Fed Ex to collaborating partners.
• Receiving and logging shipments from collaborating partners.
• Maintaining and monitoring purchasing records for multiple grants.

2. Supporting laboratory activities by:
• Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies.
• Ordering supplies as needed.
• Verifying and stocking incoming orders.
• Assisting with lab activities such as autoclaving as needed.
• Demonstrating knowledge of safety procedures and equipment.

3. Promote the University’s commitment to customer service by:
• Building effective partnerships with co-workers throughout the University by freely sharing appropriate information and providing assistance when needed.
• Ensuring optimum service to all internal and external partners in response to all requests for service and information.
• Maintaining an environment that is welcoming to persons of all backgrounds, nationalities, and roles.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3 to 5 years experience, preferably in higher education environment.
• Knowledge of grant funding and recordkeeping useful.
• Demonstrated computer skills, including word processing and e-mail required, MS Office Suite preferred.
• Experience with computerized ordering desirable, PeopleSoft experience desirable.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with diverse population desired.
