Athletic Events - Employees are eligible to attend University athletic events often at a significant discount. Please check with the Athletic Department for more information.
The university observes the legal holidays as defined by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Human Resources Division.

Numerous types of paid and unpaid Leaves of Absence are available, including sick, vacation, personal, funeral, court, educational, sabbatical, military, maternity, parental, and family. The appropriate collective bargaining agreement or non-unit employees benefit information will have details on what leaves are applicable to administrators, faculty, librarians, or support staff.
Employees may be entitled to additional benefits as outline by the Family and Medical Leave Act and the University Board of Trustee Policy on FMLA.

Employees may become members of the State Employees Credit Union or the Five College Credit Union by visiting the Human Resource Office. Additionally there are a number of banks which offer employees free checking accounts through the UMass Treasurer's Office.
Direct Deposit forms can be used to have payroll earnings sent directly to your bank or credit union.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has a salary reduction program for state employees. This is a Federal and State Tax exempt program. Employees may participate in this program through payroll deductions. Click here for a list of tax sheltered annuities (403b) available.
Through the University's membership in Mass Buying Power employees have the option of purchasing products at group discounted prices. These products include automobiles,appliances, travel packages, furniture, and consumer loans.
