PK-12 OutreachThe Graduate School of Education’s outreach to Pre-K-12 schools is extensive and diverse. GSE faculty work with schools as program consultants and evaluators, intern and practicum supervisors, and policy advisors. Three research centers housed at the GSE provide specialize resources and services to schools in the region. Plus GSE's College Prep and Young Scholars Programs prepare young adults and high school students from the Lawrence Public Schools for college life. The Center for Field Services and Studies (CFSS) offers public schools professional development and technology expertise, urban student support programs, assistance with grant writing, and access to university faculty and facilities. The Tsongas Industrial History Center, a collaboration of UMass Lowell and the Lowell National Historic Park, provides student experiential learning and teacher development focused on industrial history. The UMass Lowell Instructional Network provides distance learning technology support for the entire university. Additionally, the INET provides training and support for faculty and staff in the development of digital media and instructional technology implementation. New Horizons is an academic support program at The Bartlett Community Partnership School (BCPS) is a pre-K public school-university partnership where teachers, staff and administrators work as members of a learning community dedicated to the advancement of professional growth and knowledge. The University partnership offers a unique opportunity to bring together in-service and pre-service teachers in the continuous improvement of instruction through research, implementation of best practice and persistent professional collaboration. The mission of BCPS mission is to ensure the success of a diverse student body academically and socially. University of Massachusetts Lowell and other community partners collaborate with BCPS to enhance access and opportunities for students and families. | |
