The University of Massachusetts Lowell is pleased to announce its new Proximity Regional Rates for graduate and undergraduate students living in Southern New Hampshire.

Beginning with Fall 2008 enrollment, UMass Lowell is offering a reduced tuition rate to New Hampshire students whose hometown is within 20 miles of the campus. The reduction translates into a savings of approximately $4,000 annually for graduate students.

Based on 2008-2009 tuition and fees, for example, the out-of-state cost is $8,615 per semester for nine credits. If you qualify for Proximity Regional rates, the total tuition and fee cost would be $6,630

(Note: Tuition and fees are set each year. Please confirm the latest rates at the Accounts Receivable page.)

This program was developed in response to the many highly qualified Southern New Hampshire students seeking a world-class university education close to home.

The new Proximity Regional Rate program is based on a provision of the New England Board of Higher Education Regional Student Program (NERSP).  The proximity program does not change in any way the provisions and costs of the NERSP.

Please see the Proximity Fact Sheet for detailed information.
