Printer FriendlyThe Graduate Employee Organization (GEO) is a union of graduate employees at UMass Lowell. If you are a teaching assistant (TA), research assistant (RA), or graduate assistant (GA) at UMass Lowell, you are covered by GEO stipends and benefits. As a union, the GEO negotiates legally binding contracts with the University over working conditions and can file grievances on behalf of individual employees.
We are part of the International UAW. Our affiliation is with UAW Local 1596 based in Dedham, MA. We are a union of teaching and research assistants at UMass Lowell, and our mission is to protect the rights of graduate employees.
