Orientation & Registration

Thomas Cahill
Tommy is a second-year Orientation Leader.  He is a member of the class of 2013 from Lynn, MA as a Sound Recording Technology major.  In addition to Orientation, Tommy is involved with intramural soccer and basketball as well as Habitat for Humanity.

Why did you choose UMass Lowell?
I was interested in majoring in music, and I knew that UMass Lowell had a good program. A very informative representative came to my high school and gave me a lot of information on the music program. I auditioned and it has been great ever since! As it turned out, Lowell was only about 40 minutes from my hometown, making it easier to keep in touch with my family while living at school.

What is your favorite thing about UMass Lowell?
It is definitely the recreation center. I love going to the gym, and the facilities at this school are awesome. It's located on campus and is very easy to get to. I can play basketball there, and they have a good intramural sports program which is run through the rec. center.

What is your ideal Saturday?
Get up early and get a good breakfast with pancakes, eggs and bacon. After I finished my breakfast I would proceed to read Robert Jordan books or play my guitar. Then I would go get some coffee (which I love!) with some of my friends and simply enjoy their company. Upon returning to my room, I would watch Wayne's World before going outside to play pick-up soccer. To finish the night I would play Halo on x-box live with my friends.
