Why did you choose UMass Lowell?
I chose UMass Lowell because of its low cost to attend and how close it was to home. I was a commuter for my first two years at the University, and having it be within a half hour of home made it easy to drive in, and still had me close enough where I could stay after to do my homework or hang out with friends. I've been taught by professors who work directly in the field, professors who are happy and willing to help the students that come through their classes, and have even learned photography from a world-renowned photographer (who has had work in the Museum of Fine Arts!) UMass Lowell was my first-choice school, and it has offered me everything I was looking for in a university, and then some!
What is your favorite thing about UMass Lowell?
It's so hard to choose one thing! I would have to go with how beautiful the campus is. It's always so relaxing to study or work outside during the spring on South Campus, take the river walk from East to South campus from May to October, or sit by the beautiful trees by the Alumni Lounge on North Campus. There's also a gorgeous view by the Allen House on South campus, where you can see one of the best views of the Merrimack River in Lowell.
What is your ideal Saturday?
My ideal Saturday would be driving all day with the windows down and music up, and exploring Massachusetts with my Canon Rebel XS. I come from the countryside of Massachusetts, and it's so beautiful to just explore the forests and farms. There's a lot of amazing stuff here in the Bay State!
