Learning Communities at UMass Lowell
Learning Communities were officially implemented at UMass Lowell in Fall 2008 to encompass and engage all undeclared first-time freshmen. The Provost plans to expand this program to ALL incoming freshmen. Information with regard to both student and faculty learning communities will be added to this web page as it emerges and develops. The links below provide resources, information and faculty-development opportunities. Soon to be added: a wiki for learning communities that includes discussion boards that provide a vehicle for communication among faculty teaching in the learning communities. The topic of the spring 2009 Conversation Dinner was Learning Communities/Learning Commons at UMass Lowell. This event was an overwhelming success with more than 100 faculty/staff members in attendance. You can view a video of this event.
