Psychology Department

The Community Social Psychology faculty believe that students learn best by combining classroom learning with hands-on experience in the field. Most of our courses provide students with various opportunities to get to know the communities that surround the University through organized field trips or by having community residents and leaders as guest speakers. The program maintains close contact with many different organizations, agencies and institutions, including schools, health centers, human service agencies, Boys' & Girl's Clubs, neighborhood groups and government agencies.

Among the many different settings that our students have had direct contact with in recent years are:

  • Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley
  • Haverhill Environmental League
  • Fidelity Investments
  • Asperger's Association of New England
  • Lowell Community Charter School
  • Refugee Immigration Ministry
  • Rape Crisis Services of Greater Lowell
  • YWCAs of Worcester and Greater Lawrence
  • United Way of Merrimack Valley
  • Nashua Department of Public Health
  • Lowell Transitional Living Center
