Equity in Hiring

*Use of Applicant Tracking Charts:

For every benefited posting (job opening, promotional, and internal), please prepare an Applicant Tracking Chart for your EOO associate.  Contact Human Resources for information on the hiring and search process.  EOO's role is to assist in outreach and offer you appropriate advisements related to your review of applicants.

Note:  Please e-mail your chart weekly or as you update it during any of the following steps.  Do not wait until you have completed all steps.

  • Save the chart with the name of the position.
  • List applicant names as you receive them.
  • For Faculty positions only:  Please enter and submit addresses immediately upon receipt of applications.  This is essential for us to mail the Invitation to Self-Identify to applicants in a timely manner.  The data we collect will inform our advisements to you.
  • As you review applications, indicate whom you plan to interview using the appropriate code (1 means you don't plan to interview; 2 means you plan to interview by telephone or in person).  Also, please notify your associate once you have indicated everyone whom you plan to interview, so that we may offer timely advisements to you.
  • Provide reasons for your selection decisions.  Reasons usually should refer to qualifications listed in the advertisement to be legally defensible.
