Bring Diversity to Nursing

The Bring Diversity to Nursing Program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health to bridge the gap in racial and economic disparities in the health care workforce. The program seeks to recruit high-quality minority and economically disadvantaged students into the nursing profession. The Department of Nursing has partnered with UML's Graduate School of Education College Prep Program, the Lowell and Lawrence middle and high schools and the Lawrence YMCA Teen Achievers Program to coordinate, develop and implement pre-entry workshops. These workshops include the middle school "Nursing as a Career Choice" after-school programs and the high school "Introduction to Nursing" after-school programs.
