Eligibility

Students of all majors are eligible for The Washington Center program. Applicants must possess a GPA of at least 2.75, and have 45 credits at the time of their internship.  Internships are available in the fall (15 weeks), spring (15 weeks), or summer (10 weeks). All students will receive 12* UML academic credits for the successful completion of their internship experience during the fall or spring semesters.  Summer semester internships earn 9* UML academic credits.

*Students, through their UML academic department, may be eligible for an additional three credits.

The University of Massachusetts in collaboration with Washington Center (TWC) provides fellowships/grants to Massachusetts residents who have a 3.0 or above GPA and participate in TWC program.  UMass tuition and fees are waived for all TWC internships.  TWC program costs are then paid by the student.  UML's Financial Aid Department can explain when and if a particular student's financial award can be applied to TWC's cost.
