Flu Pandemic Preparation & Education

UML Home >   Crisis Management Plan > Pandemic Preparation & Education Printer Friendly Printer Friendly

In the event of an influenza pandemic, colleges and universities will play an integral role in protecting the health and safety of students, employees and their families. The University’s Crisis Management Team, in conjunction with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has developed several resources to assist both the institution and our community in planning in the event a flu pandemic is declared.

Preparation for an influenza pandemic should be happening now.  It is important to recognize the magnitude of what can occur during a pandemic outbreak and what actions can be taken to help lessen the impact on you and your family.  The University will offer a series of Flu Pandemic Educational Sessions and Flu Clinics during October and November.  All members of the University community are expected to attend one of the seven educational sessions.

Information on the educational sessions, flu clinics and the University’s Pandemic Policy are below.  In addition, there are recommended websites that include valuable information and checklists.
