About Us

The Department of Clinical Laboratory and Nutritional Sciences offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees. Undergraduate programs include a B.S. degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences with options in Medical Technology and Clinical Sciences and a B.S. degree in Nutritional Sciences.  Undergraduate minors are offered in Clinical Sciences and Nutrition. The graduate program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences offers concentrations in Clinical Research, Clinical Administration, Health Informatics, Nutritional Sciences and Public Health Laboratory Sciences. Graduate certificates are offered in Clinical Pathology, Clinical Pathology Online, Nutritional Sciences and Public Health Laboratory Sciences. All programs build on strong science foundations to prepare students for health professions and research careers.

Our programs are based on the premise that society, through its community and educational institutions, has a responsibility to make available for its citizens the methods and means for achieving the goal of optimal health. We align our activities with the School of Health and Environment mission through teaching, both in the classroom and in off campus practicum settings, laboratory and applied research, and public service through partnerships with other health organizations.

Career Opportunities

Graduates work in hospital, IVF, reference and veterinary laboratories. Biomedical, biotechnical and pharmaceutical companies provide career opportunities in areas such as medical sales, quality control and research.
