Dr. Azaroff has participated in a variety of research and service partnerships with groups including the Massachusetts Coalition for Occupational Safety and Health (MassCOSH), the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), and the Vietnamese-American Initiative for Development (Viet-AID). Recent projects include the prevention of flash fires and toxic exposures affecting hardwood floor finishers. She is currently Principal Investigator for a NIOSH-funded project designed to research methods to prevent falls and silica exposure affecting Latino construction workers around Lawrence, "Protección en Construcción: the Lawrence Latino Safety Partnership," together with the Lawrence Mayor's Health Task Force, the Laborers Union Local 175, JSI Research and Training Institute, and Drs. Roelofs, Brunette, and Shepherd of the Work Environment Department. She also serves as Project Coordinator for the NIOSH-funded "Occupational Health Surveillance throught Massachusetts Community Health Centers" led by Dr. Letitia Davis of the Occupational Health Surveillance Program, Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Dr. Azaroff has enjoyed previous employment as a medical interpreter at Cambridge Hospital and a field representative for janitor members of SEIU Local 615.
