Master of Science in Nursing 1984 University of Wisconsin-Madison Bachelor of Science in Nursing Major in Psychology Bio Sketch Karen B. Foulke is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nursing certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her experience includes a total of 24 years in the field of psychiatric nursing in a variety of treatment settings. Of these 24 years, Professor Foulke has practice in the nurse-expanded role with prescriptive authority for 11 years. She currently practices in an outpatient psychiatric practice in North Andover conducting psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents, as well as prescribing and monitoring their psychiatric medications. Currently, Professor Foulke is a full-time clinical faculty for the clinical practicum Health Promotion and Risk Reduction of Families II. In addition, Professor Foulke teaches an introductory course, Strategies for Academic Success, for the Department of Nursing. Professor Foulke is a charter member of the American Psychiatric Nurses’ Association previously serving on the Retention and Recruitment Committee and the Membership Committee. She is also a founding board member of the New England Psychiatric Nurses’ Association previously serving as Secretary and as the New Hampshire State Representative. Her area of expertise and clinical interest is in the area of child/adolescent psychopharmacology.
