Educational Background
Bio Sketch
Valerie King is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Her clinical experiences include family and adult practice, occupational health, school health, long term care staff development, community health, and instructor/ Coordinator of Clinical Resources at U-Mass Lowell. Currently, she is a visiting professor teaching both didactic and practicum courses for the RN and Senior Nursing students. She has served as a preceptor for Family Nurse Practitioner students and continues to maintain her practice as a Nurse Practitioner in a suburban Dracut practice.
She is very active in Eta Omega Chapter, Sigma Theta Tau International. She is a charter member of that chapter and has served in many leadership positions including President, Treasurer and Newsletter Editor. She also is involved in the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, Merrimack Valley Chapter and works actively with educational program planning and meetings.
Clinical interests: Care of the diabetic adult, psychiatric illness in the primary care setting, Woman’s and adolescent health care, implementation of electronic medical records and other technologies in primary care.
