Lanza, M.L., Associate Chief, Nursing Service for Research at Bedford VAMC in Bedford, MA, is the principal Investigator for a study, “Violence Assessment, Mitigation, and Prevention” (VAMP), a multi-site study with the long term objective of gaining a better understanding  of Workplace Violence in the Department of Veterans Affairs and to develop programs and procedures to reduce its frequency and impact.

Lanza, M.L., Associate Chief, Nursing Service for Research at Bedford VAMC in Bedford, MA, is P.I. on another project of Violence Prevention Community Meeting (VPCM) funded by the VA Central Office and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). This research aims to reduce patient violence against psychiatric nurses through implementation of an innovative treatment program– The Violence Prevention Community Meting (VPCM).
