Marketing > Info
Marketing is one of the twenty fastest growing career
areas. Why? The intense competition of the global marketplace means that
marketers -- those who help businesses, governments, and community organizations
get their message heard -- are more important than ever.
The Marketing concentration will give you
- exposure to all aspects of the field, including
- identifying customer needs, and developing products,
services, and programs that will satisfy them; and
- the tools and techniques that can make the difference
between success and failure for a business, public agency, or nonprofit
organization.
Coursework is supplemented with an internship program,
independent study projects, and the activities of the Marketing Club.
A degree in marketing equips graduates for a range of
professions, from marketing research to public relations to product management.
Course Work:
Freshmen and sophomores take Precalculus (algebra),
Management Calculus, College Writing I and II, Financial and Managerial
Accounting, Micro and Macro Economics, Statistics, Operations Analysis,
and Marketing Principles, plus nine General Education requirements. Junior
and senior students study Business Finance, Operations Management, Management
Information Systems, Organizational Behavior, Identifying Marketing Opportunities,
