Linda H. Kistler is a Professor Emeritus in the College of Management where she specializes in financial accounting. She has published more than 75 articles in her areas of interest, which include financial accounting, international accounting, accounting history, microcomputer applications in accounting, and ethics. Her most recent articles were published in the International Journal of Accounting, Corporate Accounting , and The National Public Accountant. In 1989, her computer-assisted case in financial accounting was published by John Wiley and Sons, and later editions continue in print.

Professor Kistler has been active in the public accounting profession at the state and national levels. In fall, 1995, she was elected to a three year term on the Council of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is the first female to represent Massachusetts accountants in that position. Service at the state level has included the Massachusetts Society of CPAs' Ethics Committee, CPE Committee, and 150-Hours Committee. In addition, she has served the MSCPA as Vice-President of Finance, and two terms as a member of the Board of Directors. Professor Kistler served for ten years on the editorial board of The CPA Review; and for five years on the editorial board of The Accounting Historian's Journal, including a period as Book Reviews editor.

Professor Kistler had five years of public accounting experience prior to entering the academic profession. She continues to conduct limited consulting in accounting and financial planning. She has been a member of the University of Massachusetts Lowell faculty since 1966 and served as Acting or Interim Dean on two occasions.

Professor Kistler holds B.S.B.A. and M.S.B.A. degrees from Colorado State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Massachusetts.
