Charles F. Thompson is an Associate Professor of Accounting in the College of Management where his interests are in governmental accounting, small business accounting, and the use of technology for teaching purposes. Professor Thompson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, where he has served on the Governmental Accounting and Microcomputer Committees. Professor Thompson is the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District and a member of the Lawrence Airport Commision.

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, Professor Thompson taught at Northeastern University and was in a public accounting practice.

Professor Thompson holds an MBA degree from Northeastern University and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Governmental Accountant in Massachusetts.
