Luvai F. Motiwalla, Associate Professor of MIS, joined the College of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell in 1998. He has a Ph.D. and MS in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona and a B.B.A. from Penn State University. His areas of interest include application of distance learning, multimedia, Internet, knowledge engineering, database management, and artificial intelligence systems in organizations. He has published articles in several national & international academic conferences and in several journals including Journal of MIS, Journal of Organizational Computing, and Information & Management among others.

Before joining UML, Professor Motiwalla was at the University of Hartford and has consulted or worked on research projects funded by Connecticut Department of Health Services, IBM, NCR and the US Army.
