Educational Background
Professor Bouges holds a B.S. from Northeastern University, an M.S.T. from Bentley College and a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. In addition, she is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association, the American Tax Association and the Financial Management Association.
Scholarly Interests
Professor Bouges’ current research interests include the taxation and regulation of hedge funds, mutual funds and pension funds. She has published articles in such journals as The Journal of Alternative Investments and The Journal of Wealth Management and contributed to study guides for nationally recognized designations.
Bio Sketch
Janie Casello Bouges is an assistant professor of accounting in the College of Management. Her teaching areas include financial accounting, Intermediate Accounting I & II, and taxation. She is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Accounting Association, the American Tax Association and the Financial Management Association.
Prior to joining UML, she held positions in public accounting, private industry and other academic institutions.
