Current StudentsThe Chemical Engineering Department encourages its students to pursue a vibrant college life both in and outside the department's activities.
Student Societies Many students are very active in the student chapters of professional societies such as AIChE, ISPE, TAPPI and ANS, as well as the engineering honor societies of Tau Beta Pi, Omega Chi Epsilon and Alpha Nu Sigma. Students and faculty members attend periodic meetings of the local and national chapters of these associations.

Coop Program The department has a flexible Coop program that is coordinated by Professor Gilbert Brown. Students obtain Coop positions advertised through the department and also through their own initiative. Technical elective credit can be obtained for professional-level experience in the coop program.
Scholarships The department annually distributes scholarships on a competitive basis based on either academic merit,financial need or a combination of both. Currently, there are three endowed scholarships and several department scholarships.
