Professor Bell Interviewed on the BBC


Prof. Caryn Bell was recently interviewed by the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) for a radio series entitled "Blowing  the Music Away" by correspondent Stephen Evans. This series examines history, music, and culture in pre- and post-Katrina New Orleans. 
 
Part of the interview aired at 8:30 AM, November 23, on the web at BBC Radio 4. The premier program (30 minutes) is the first in the radio documentary's three part series. The second part (30 minutes)  will air Tuesday, November 29, and the third part the following Tuesday, December 6  at 8:30 AM. Each of the 3 episodes will be repeated the following Saturday at 10:30 AM and will also stay on the web for a week after transmission in the "Listen Again" section on BBC Radio 4.

She has also recently begun working with Insignia Films to produce a PBS documentary related to Hurricane Katrina against the backdrop of New Orleans race relations from Reconstruction to the present.
