The Literary Society
The UMass Lowell Literary Society is open to all members of the UML community interested in literature and writing. They meet throughout the year for academic talks, literary discussions, or just to socialize. We also publish The Offering, the University’s literary journal. Contact Professors Julie Nash or Bridget Marshall for more information on submitting writing and artwork for the next edition of The Offering.
Sigma Tau Delta
Sigma Tau Delta is the official English Department Honor Society. This semester, it is sponsoring some events for interested students and other events for inducted members. Events are sponsored by the group and the English Department. If you are interested in learning more about becoming a member, you may contact English Department Professors Laura Barefield or Jeannie Judge for more information.
Eligibility for undergraduates includes:
- Completion of 45 college credits including 2 English courses, excluding College Writing I and II
- Having a minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in both English classes and in cumulative grades
The Off-Broadway Players
The Off-Broadway Players is the theater group at UMass Lowell. This fall, they will perform "Rumors" by Neil Simon from November 12 to 15, 2009, 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; 2 p.m. on Sunday. Students and seniors, $5; Adults $10; and special $1 student tickets on opening night. Shows are held in the Comley-Lane Theatre, Mahoney Hall, South Campus.
