Department of Physical Therapy

The Department of Physical Therapy at UMass Lowell develops physical therapist practitioners and scholars to restore physical function and performance, prevent physical injury and disease, and promote physical wellness. We accomplish this through excellence and leadership in education, research and service.

Our Physical Therapy Department is committed to providing a supportive, nurturing environment for students interested in pursuing a career in exercise physiology and/or physical therapy. Our faculty is experienced in teaching, scholarship and service to the community. Several faculty members have earned clinical specialties through the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Physical Therapy Association. Faculty members have demonstrated expertise that is on the “cutting edge” of clinical practice and research to prepare students for the complex and ever changing healthcare environment of the twenty-first century.
