Bring Diversity to Nursing


The Bring Diversity to Nursing Project is funded by the U.S. DHHS, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), Bureau of Health Professions, Division of Nursing and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. 

The mission of the BDN project is to:

  • Promote awareness of nursing as a career choice to middle school and high school students.

  • Increase the number of minority and disadvantaged students who choose nursing as a career.

  • Enhance the academic abilities and preparation of students in Lawrence and Lowell, MA, area for the purpose of increasing their competitiveness for entry into the University of Massachusetts Lowell Nursing program.

Ensure future graduation for the University of Massachusetts, Lowell Nursing program and successful completion NCLEX-RN licensure pass rate.

Employment Opportunity with Bring Diversity to Nursing:
Coordinator of Diversity Support Services

The Coordinator of Diversity Support Services will mentor/advise as well as coordinate planned retention activities for Bring Diversity to Nursing (BDN) enrolled students. This will include providing academic support by attending classes, conducting class and exam reviews, determining the pool of candidates who meet eligibility, and planning and implementing various extracurricular social/cultural nursing events. The successful applicant will have a MS in Nursing preferred, BS in Nursing required, with requisite clinical practice experience and experience with teaching, group work and solid computer skills. A Massachusetts RN license and minimum of two years full-time nursing experience is required. Bilingual skills strongly desired. This position is a half-time non-benefited position.
