Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. UMass Lowell is a four-year university located in the northeastern Massachusetts high-tech region. We offer an ABET-accredited undergraduate mechanical engineering degree, as well as Master's and Doctoral programs. Our principal research areas are in composite materials, nanomanufacturing, modal analysis, solar energy, acoustics, heat transfer, MEMS, Aeronautics, CFD, and sports engineering.
