Give to Scholarships

Chancellor Martin T. Meehan Educational Excellence Endowment Fund

Gifts to the Chancellor Martin T. Meehan Educational Excellence Endowment Fund will create an endowment to provide scholarships for deserving students as well as support for campus initiatives and areas of excellence, which include encouraging the invention and innovation needed to fuel the state's knowledge economy.

Give to the Endowment (Note: In the "Contribution For" drop-down please choose the "Chancellor Martin T. Meehan Educational Excellence Endowment Fund)

A healthy endowment ensures the strength, stability and independence of the University over time. With an endowment, the principal of a gift is invested in perpetuity and a portion of the annual interest is used by UMass Lowell for the purpose for which the fund was established. Endowment gifts are managed for UMass Lowell by the University of Massachusetts Foundation, Inc.

The Music Education Endowment

Gifts to this fund will support talent scholarships for students in the innovative programs of the Music Department. UMass Lowell was the first public institution in the United States to offer a Music Education degree and has become a regional leader in the field. Currently, more music teachers in Massachusetts have graduated from Lowell than from all other higher education institutions in Massachusetts combined.

Other outstanding music programs include:

  • Sound Recording Technology, among the leading programs of its type in the United States, whose exceptional recording facilities, rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum and a renowned faculty provide undergraduate and graduate students with a world-class education;
  • The Music Business program, combining a traditional music curriculum with courses and experiences related to the music industry, such as management, marketing, sales, publishing, retailing, and record and concert promotion; and
  • Music Performance, a traditional program for those students who wish to pursue careers as professional performing musicians.
