Office of the Chancellor
Campus organizational review
As part of the transition process of bringing in a new Chancellor, the University has requested an internal audit of our organizational structure and effectiveness. Accordingly, the University of Massachusetts, Internal Audit Division has retained Project Control Companies, Inc. to conduct a review of the executive offices of the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The review, common in many organizations undergoing a transition of leadership, will occur during the next four weeks as part of a process to create the most effective executive administrative structure for the University.
An ad hoc advisory committee of faculty and staff will assist in a review of the auditors report and make recommendations to the new chancellor. The audit review is expected to be completed in August and an organizational structure in place by the start of classes in September.
Additionally, in July, the campus will launch searches for a vice chancellor for research, a newly created position recommended by the Council on Research, and provost, since John Wooding is returning to the faculty. If you are interested in serving on these committees please forward your name to Jacqueline_Moloney@uml.edu
Faculty and staff are encouraged to provide feedback about this process. Please e-mail your suggestions to the incoming chancellor at marty_meehan@uml.edu.
