Dr. Boyer has been with CPH-NEW since its inception as the lead ergonomics exposure assessor and research coordinator for Project A. His duties have included field assessments of ergonomic exposures and employee health assessments, survey methods development and administration, supervision of data collection and management, liaising with research partners, and training of new research and project staff. He has worked for the past seven years in the area of biomechanical and work-organization exposure assessment among clinical and non-clinical healthcare workers. Dr. Boyer's work is strongly influenced by theories of socio-technical systems theory and participatory ergonomics principles of workplace analysis and intervention. His primary interests surrounds methods development for translation of exposure assessment and epidemiologic research findings into practicial engineering and policy interventions that prevent employee and patient injuries and illnesses in healthcare systems.
